The Global LAnd Surface Satellite (GLASS) product suite currently contains more than a dozen of products, such as leaf area index (LAI), fraction of absorbed photosynthetically active radiation (FAPAR), fraction of green vegetation coverage (FVC), gross primary production (GPP), net primary production (NPP), forest above-ground biomass, broadband albedo, broadband longwave emissivity, downward shortwave radiation (DSR) and photosynthetically active radiation (FPAR), land surface temperature (LST), downward and upwelling thermal radiation (ULR), all-wave net radiation (NR), evapotranspiration (ET), near surface air temperature, snow cover. These products are generated mainly from the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) satellite data. The GLASS products have some unique characteristics, such as long-term temporal coverage (many from 1981 to present), high spatial resolution (e.g., 250m for LAI/FAPAR/Albedo products, and 5km for surface radiation products), spatial continuities without “gaps”, and high quality and accuracy based on extensive validation and comparison. The GLASS products have been widely used by researchers from more than 400 worldwide universities and institutions, with the accumulative downloads of more than 1.7PB since they were officially released in 2012.
To facilitate more extensive utilization of the GLASS products by a broader community, enhance the GLASS products suite, strengthen the communication among the GLASS products developers and users, as well as promote knowledge exchange from different fields, the 1st GLASS products user conference will be held virtually on 4 – 6 August 2022. All the GLASS products users and those who are interested in the GLASS products are warmly invited to join the conference. All talks will be given in both oral or poster sessions.
